Child Search

Child Search is an effort to identify children ages three through twenty-one suspected of having an exceptionality that may qualify for and be in need of special education and related services not currently enrolled in a Plaquemines Parish Public School.
 
The following disabilities may be eligible for special education and related services under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Act):
• Autism
• Deaf-Blindness
• Developmental Delay
• Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing
• Emotional Disturbance
• Intellectual Disability
• Multiple Disabilities
• Orthopedic Impairment
• Other Health Impairment
• Specific Learning Disability
• Speech or Language Impairment
• Traumatic Brain Injury
• Visual Impairment
• Gifted
• Talented

Does your 3 – 5 year old who is not yet enrolled in school appear to have delays in physical development (walking, seeing, hearing), cognitive development (learning skills or problem solving), social and emotional development (playing with others, showing feelings), adaptive development (feeding, getting dressed), and/or communication (listening, talking?)
