USE OF PRIVATE VEHICLES FOR SCHOOL BUSINESS

AUTOMOBILE LIABILITY COVERAGE

The Plaquemines Parish School Board recognizes that employees may need to use their own vehicles for business related travel.  In order to receive reimbursement for travel expenses, employees shall be required to maintain adequate automobile insurance.  The amount of coverage shall be at least $50,000.00 liability coverage.  The employee’s supervisor shall verify such coverage before commencing any Board related travel or being eligible for Board reimbursement of travel expenses.  A copy of current insurance coverage and insurance card shall be kept on file at the employee’s work location.

No reimbursement for travel expense will be made until proof of insurance is verified.  The supervisor’s signature on the travel expense form will indicate proof of insurance as well as travel expenses.
