Licensed Clinical Social Worker (South Team)

John Trumbaturi, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, specializes in school social work; mental health and crisis intervention services; anxiety and depression; and medical/healthcare social work services.  He has 32 years of experience as a Social Worker and has been working in Plaquemines Parish schools for the past 26 years.  Previous work experiences include: Orleans Parish, Jefferson Parish, and St. Charles Parish school systems and with Ochsner Medical Center for the past 13 years.  John is licensed in Louisiana as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has national certifications with the Academy of Clinical Social Workers; Board Certified Diplomat; and Certified School Social Work Specialist.  His duties include: Adaptive and psychosocial-emotional assessments; functional behavior assessments; behavior intervention strategies and plan; individual and group counseling; crisis counseling; medical knowledge; resource knowledge; and special and general education support.  John also coordinates student, preschool, Early Steps, and Child Search evaluations for students and children, who are in need of special education services.  John is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Plaquemines Parish CARE Center and has been on the Board since 2006.
