Speech and Language Diagnostician (Districtwide)

Laurene’ Bossier is a speech language pathologist currently working at Woodland Central Office as a Speech and Language Diagnostician. She travels throughout the parish working with the Pupil Appraisal team and participates in the evaluation of students with suspected disabilities. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in the area of Communication Sciences and Disorders from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2002 and a Masters of Communication Disorders from LSU Health Sciences Center 2004. Laurene’ has worked in Plaquemines Parish since 2004.  She began her career at Buras High School and following Katrina worked at BCPS and BCHS, before returning to the south end of the parish and working at SPES, SPHS, and BVES. Laurene’ spent the last ten years at Belle Chasse Middle before moving into the role of diagnostician. Laurene’ holds a Louisiana license in the area of speech language pathology. She is national board certified through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). She has experience with clients from birth to 22, and currently works with the Louisiana Early Steps program servicing babies (0-3) with communication delays in the evenings.  Laurene’ has served as a supervisor of clinical fellows and graduate students from LSUHSC for the past 13 years, as well as, mentor teacher and special education support person for new teachers.  In her spare time, Laurene’ enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two boys, Henry and Harvey.
