IEP Coordinator Grades 7-12 Districtwide
I am currently the IEP coordinator for grades 7-12 at SPH and Phoenix, grades 9-12 at BCH, support special education at the PPSB Learning Center, and LEAP Connect students throughout the district. I earned my undergrad from the University of Iowa and my first Master degree from The University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service with an emphasis in education leadership, policy, and reform. I have had the incredible opportunity to work in schools throughout the US and overseas in Nepal and India. I hail from Minnesota, but have been in Louisiana since serving in AmeriCorps as a VISTA and in NCCC. My license is in teaching students with significant disabilities grades k-12 from The University of New Orleans, and I am completing my Master in Educational Leadership from Louisiana State University. Prior to becoming an IEP coordinator, I taught in Jefferson, St. Bernard, and Plaquemines Parish schools at BCM. I am very passionate about public education and love working with students and educators to help create the best opportunities for all children. In addition to being an educator, I am also a proud parent to my daughter Lily who has significant disabilities. When not at work you will find me cheering on my favorite sports teams or traveling with my family to the beaches or state and national parks.
