HOLIDAYS

The Plaquemines Parish School Board shall establish the holiday schedule for all personnel in addition to those included in the adoption of a school calendar.  Whenever a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the Board may declare that the holiday be observed on the preceding Friday or following Monday, respectively.

The Board has established the following holiday schedule for all personnel employed on a twelve (12) month basis:

Martin Luther King Day

Mardi Gras Day and additional days to be determined

Easter and additional days to be determined 

July 4th

Labor Day

Thanksgiving – Week of Thanksgiving or days as determined

Christmas, New Year's Day and additional days to be determined

General election day shall be designated by each school system as a holiday every four (4) years for the presidential election.
