GRANTS

The Superintendent (or his/her designee) shall be authorized by the Plaquemines Parish School Board to develop and submit applications for state, federal, industrial and/or foundation grants in keeping with the philosophy and policy of the Plaquemines Parish School Board.  He/she shall inform the School Board and/or the appropriate Board committee prior to the submission of the application as to the amount requested and the purpose to be served, demonstrating compatibility with ongoing programs.  He/she shall also make periodic reports to the Board on the progress of any applications submitted.  The Board shall exercise the right to disapprove and/or withdraw applications if it feels such applications submitted are not compatible with Board philosophy or policy.

Teachers who write for grants that are subsequently awarded and received shall be provided a one-time stipend.  The stipend, which shall be dependent on the level of funding provided by the grant, shall be remitted to the teacher upon receipt of the grant monies.
