Cohort Graduation Rate

Plaquemines Parish Schools strive for excellence in academics and prides itself on honest communication with students, parents, and the community. As a parent, it is your right to know the graduation rate of the school your child attends. Please find this relevant information concerning your child’s school at under Districts-At-a-Glance.
The Cohort Graduation Rate is a measure based on the percentage of students who enter the ninth grade and graduate four years later. In order to be in compliance with recent policy revisions to the Dropout Prevention and Recovery Act (Regular Session, 2010 ACT 557) approved by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE), all schools with a graduation cohort rate below 80% had to submit a Dropout Prevention Action Plan to the Louisiana Department of Education. State, district, and local staff are collaborating to enforce this plan in an effort to increase the state graduation rate to 80% by 2014. Results are based upon the 2010-2011 preliminary graduation rates.
