Young Audiences Visits BCPS

Third grade students at Belle Chasse Primary, a Blue Ribbon School, “passed a very good time” on Tuesday, April 24, 2007.  They were treated to a wonderful performance by the Shoestring Players from Young Audiences.   Louisiana folk tales were the order of the day as students journeyed down the bayou by listening to stories with a local flavor.

Thanks to a grant concerning "Literacy Through Storytelling" students throughout the school continue to benefit from a wide variety of live performances provided by Young Audiences throughout the school year.  This program is supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Arts Council of New Orleans.
