Phoenix High School Boys' Basketball Team Goes to Arkansas

The day after Christmas, the Boy’s Varsity Basketball team boarded a bus and headed to Little Rock, Arkansas to play in the Heaven’s Best Basketball Tournament. The tournament lasted 4 days and the boys and their coaches returned home on the 29^th of December. Coach Griffin, Coaches Jiles and Coach Etienne took Marcus Cross, Marlon Jiles, Allen Lewis, Brian Etienne, Shaquille Cosse, Theron Tinson, Clarence Harvey, Gary Sylvester, Donald Taylor, Wade Tarrence, Ellis Harvey and Justin Manuel to the tournament.

     On the court, the boys showed off their hard work and talent winning two of the tournament days.  Marcus Cross was toted as a “College Prospect” at the tournament and the team played hard each of the four days. Coach Griffin organized the Christmas trip to the tournament and made all the arrangements for the team to play. Brian Etienne said, “Everybody had fun on the trip.” The team and coaches are very thankful to the School Board and private donations that made the trip possible.
