2008 STATE-TESTING INCENTIVE PROGRAM
 |
The purpose of the Plaquemines Parish incentive program is to encourage student to work at their fullest potential and perform at higher levels on state assessments. Student scores in ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies in Grades 3-11 determine a school's performance score (SPS). NCLB (No Child Left Behind) states that all schools must reach an SPS of 120 by 2014. Thus, the program is designed to reward those students who earn at least 100 points for the school in the grade-appropriate assessment as initial testers. |

Fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students would attend an activity such as a movie during the exempted exam time.
