Plaquemines Parish Schools utilize PBS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) to create a positive learning environment for students.

Louisiana law states that school officials have the right to discipline students for inappropriate behavior that occurs in the school, on the school playground, on the school bus, and during recess. In the case of students with disabilities, school officials are required to follow certain steps before taking any disciplinary action.

Both federal and state law contain certain requirements that school systems must follow prior to imposing a disciplinary action on students with disabilities.
