Common Core Begins Early

It is very important for children to be prepared for kindergarten. Louisiana is implementing Common Core Standards and will be expecting all children entering kindergarten to know certain basic skills before they begin. It is very important for parents and child care providers to make sure they are aware of these standards. We all know that learning begins at birth. Here are a few links that may help us understand exactly what Common Core is and what it will mean to us:

Wtih these standards, reading will be a more difficult throughout the subject areas. However, the challenge should benefit the students in all curriculum areas.
