National School Lunch Week

National School Lunch Week was created by President John F. Kennedy in 1962. National School Lunch Week (NSLW) is a week-long celebration of the school lunch program. School Nutrition Association members celebrate in their cafeterias every year with decorations, special menus, events, and more. NSLW 2016 is officially scheduled for October 10-14 by an act of Congress.

The NSLW 2016 theme is “School Lunch ...Show Your Spirit” It’s about sharing the best, real images of today’s school lunch—fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, milk, and smiling students. It provides a great opportunity for School Nutrition Association members to capitalize on using social media to promote your program to parents and students, too!
