Special Education Staff Receives National Certification

Congratulations to Mary Ellen Hamner, Renee’ Calligan, and Debbie Sisung, for achieving the status of Nationally Board Certified Educational Diagnosticians.  Mary Ellen is currently our Pupil Appraisal Coordinator and has 21 years of experience in our school system.  Renee’ is the Educational Diagnostician for the South Team and has 15 years of special education experience in our parish.  Debbie is the Educational Diagnostician for the North Team and has 17 years of special education experience.  We are so proud of their accomplishments…Congratulations!

John Trumbaturi (not pictured) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 16 years experience in Louisiana schools, including Orleans, Jefferson, St. Charles, and Plaquemines parishes.  He has worked in Plaquemines Parish Schools for the past 8 years as a School Social Worker in Pupil Appraisal/Special Education, serving the North and South schools. 

 John acquired  his national certification as a Certified School Social Work Specialist in 1992 through the National Association of Social Workers.  He acquired his national certifciation as a Board Certified Diplomat through the American Board of Examiners in 1994.  John also acquired certification as an instructor of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention in 2005.
